Without knowing it, we all wear multiple hats. I am an entrepreneur, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a colleague. We always juggle between the different roles of our lives.
When you decide to launch your own business / project (or manage your own music career) the first thing to understand is that you need to wear multiple hats or what I would call ‘multiple personalities’ to improve your success.
I’ve been asked many times: What do you love so much about music? My passion for music has always been difficult to put into words. It’s more about the FEEL and the impact it had and still has on my life. Music is overrated, we trade it, we sell it I know it’s a business after all but we often forget the emotional bond that is created.
We make decisions everyday, big or little. Some of them are really important and will change our life while others are insignificant. The science of decision-making has always fascinated me – according to multiples sources on the web, we make approximately 35.00 decisions each day! Of course it varies between individuals but I find the figure quite impressive.
Having lived and worked with multiple artists, I now realize how difficult it is for them to find the right balance between their social life and their art. If you wake up in the morning and all you can think about is writing and playing music, know that you’re not alone. If, when someone ask you ‘What do you do for fun’ the first thing that comes to your mind is being in the studio creating music, know that it is a beautiful thing and you shouldn’t feel bad, the way you are is a blessing.
This week I’ve been playing the following songs on repeat. It’s time for you to discover the talented: ThirdStory, Luke Levenson feat. Abby Smith and Jaime Woods.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned over the years is that the essential key to success is Keeping Your Word.
If you’re an entrepreneur or an artist and you’re working with a team of people, the key words to your success are: Integrity, Trust and Respect. So how do you lay the foundations of your success? By doing what you say you would do.
I was lucky enough to attend The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this weekend. 3 days of incredible live music – I managed to see 30 artists this year and some of them blew my mind away.
Here are my highlights for this year, artists you need to check out NOW
I’m trying to keep up the habit of reading a book for 30 minutes every day. My goal is to read something inspiring, thought-provoking and learn something new every single day before I start work. It can be someone’s biography, a business book, a TED talk.. Instead of checking Social Media first thing in the morning, I think it’s important we feed our mind with something positive that will put our mind in the right setting and believe me you’ll end up being more productive! Here’s a list of books I highly suggest you read while drinking your coffee/tea in the morning, let me know if you have any suggestions as I’m always looking for new books to read
Lately, I started paying attention to the things that are influencing my mood, my creativity, my work and it stroke me how bad we are with ourselves. We are doing so many things that we know aren’t good for us but we do it anyway, because.. we’re human?! Let’s talk about the power of habits to make massive changes. If we undertake small steps to achieve what we want we eventually will reach our goals. Success doesn’t come overnight, neither does happiness.
